I wonder if the others feel the same. But the male denizens in med fac make a rather characterless platter, much too bland and unenticing to the palate. For one, the general populace in question does not excel in the looks department. And the minute few who have fortunately been blessed with those deep-set eyes or that well-chiseled body do little with them to enhance their charm. Several times I have looked down those gaily-lit eyes of a certain someone as we embarked on our occassional yackety-yat, hoping to find that extraordinary spark that would set him apart from the rest of the insipid fare. But ah no. Every sentence he sprouted directed our colloquy towards whatever we learnt in school. Word after word of textbook material. Medical jokes. Medical quotes. Not an ounce of wit or humour to boot. And so the same goes for the rest of them. No doubt, there isn't a problem starting a conversation with any of the guys. They are all nice and affable and everything goes fairly easily, from making small talk with the guy queuing in front of me at library counter to laughing over lunch with my anatomy groupmates. But oh well, it doesn't seem likely that I'll find my Mr Darcy or Rhett Butler among their midst. No witty conversation, no subtle teasing, no romantic notions. Nothing to get my heart fluttering like when i read those romance novels. Not that med fac guys are utterly lousy. They just aren't tempting enough.
