I am down with the flu bug again. I am definitely not frail, it's just that those deplorable flu viruses are getting more virulent by the day. Apart from a horribly blocked nose which refuses to stop dripping, I sound disgustingly nasal. So today I went around school speaking in a wierd way and then down to the Orchard Library to finish up my CIP hours, which incidentally, became a virus reservoir. Beware all of you who hung out around that area today. you're in for an incredible rough ride.
Anyway, I received my first "on government service" mail yesterday. It goes "
An aircraft doesn't care if it's being flown by a man or by a woman. Neither do we.
As a young woman, you have a mind that has been sharpened and trained to think, and the stamina to concentate. But, considering the options you have, and the fact that as a woman a career in the RSAF may not have occured to you, you will probably ask, why whould I become a pilot?
Leaderhip, Decisiveness, Teamwork and Initiative.
They are not the domains reserved for men.
In the RSAT, these four words become a part of every individual, regardless of the specialisation they choose.
We're looking forward to hearing from you. But more importantly, we're looking forward to you spreading your wings as a pilot."
I definitely do not meet the height and the eyesight citeria. I think RSAF must be desperate for pilots to present such a offer. But Sharon should be interested. Prehaps she will take it up.
